Tim Allan aka dj Mr Tim

Background

Based in the Worcestershire village of Badsey, Tim likes to travel far and wide from his Midlands base, especially to his home town, Banbury in Oxfordshire, the Algarve, and the south coast of England.

With over 38 years of experience in the media and entertainment industry, Tim is a versatile dj and radio presenter, and event announcer who specialises in the 70s, 80s, 90s retro and rock radio shows plus rock and quiz nights as well as running his own website design, print management and graphic design business Mad Web Design along with a new Event Planning and Management business Mad Cat Events.

Although based a stone’s throw away from Evesham, any venue is considered and catered for events. The event announcing and presenting duties are favourites, along with sports commentary, interviews and reporting from motorsports events or non-league football matches.

Voiceover projects for adverts or event film coverage, plus media reports and interviews undertaken.

As an event announcer or presenter, Tim has covered many speedway meetings at venues across the south coast, including stints with the Isle of Wight Warriors, Weymouth Wildcats, Plymouth Devils, and Poole Pirates over the years, while also covering as a backup for the Somerset Rebels for a short period.

Voice-over projects include commentary for Speedway Portal (Isle of Wight Speedway) and DL Action Sports (Weymouth and Plymouth Speedway), as well as coverage of grass track racing.

DJ Mr Tim’s story

When it comes to his radio shows, The ‘Ultimate Classic Rock Radio Show’ on Thursday Nights from 7 pm speaks for itself, a very popular show covering classic rock for 2 hours, along with the pick of the new releases from upcoming bands.

His Lazy Sunday Afternoon is currently being rested. It should make a return this year at some point, where you will hear just about anything from rock to pop to reggae, from Elvis, the Beatles, to Queen, ELO, M-People, Bob Marley, Prince, Bowie, The Who and much, much more!

During the lockdown, Tim presented The Meltdown show, combined with keeping sports results and the news flowing throughout a Saturday afternoon. This became a regular fixture in the scheduling on RadioSportsLive, but with the station growing, with other presenters coming on board, Tim stepped down from this show.

The Meltdown show will be revamped from its original format, but it is in rest mode. When it returns, it will be broadcast Live from Tim’s home studio in Badsey. In addition, Tim started a love show called All Loved Up, which aired every Sunday live from 7 pm until 9 pm. This show became very popular in a short space of time.

Tim decided to come out of mobile retirement in 2021 and presented Quiz, Rock, Retro and Party nights. During mid 2025, Tim decided to step back from the normal disco and karaoke nights to concentrate on events and his own business interests.

Tim found working on one Internet radio station at a time frustrating. Tim founded Radio Sports Live in September 2020, which was born from a dream which had lasted almost 10 years. This dream turned into reality when the station broadcast from his home to initially cover non-league football in and around Dorset at clubs like Hamworthy United and Christchurch.

After moving away from his south coast home in Poole, Tim decided it was time to rethink. His lifelong friend Paul stepped in to take the station over in December 2021, which allowed Tim time to pursue new opportunities that were opening up for him. Meanwhile, Radio Sports Live morphed into Jurassic Radio.

One of those opportunities is covering Evesham United on matchdays (Saturdays and Tuesdays with Harry taking the main commentator role), which started with the 2023/24 football season in the Southern League and continues to date.

Now, though, Tim has decided it is the right time to launch a new Community Internet Radio station. Deciding to start Radio Evesham has been on the back burner for a couple of years. Finally, in June 2026, Tim decided it was the right time to put everything together, ready for a live launch in July.

DJ Mr Tim’s Shows

The ‘Ultimate Classic Rock Radio Show’

The ‘Ultimate Classic Rock Radio Show’ started life back in 2015 with Tim Allan presenting the show as ‘iT Rocks’, a pre-recorded show for Puritans Radio in Banbury. Two years later, the show moved to Radio Wimborne, turning into a live show most weeks.

A further two years down the line, Radio Sports Live took the show over with Tim still broadcasting a wide range of classic rock from the 70s, 80s, 90s and much more. Tim even found a way to integrate new bands, giving them airtime for their new singles.

Currently, the show is broadcast ‘Live’ on Thursday night from 7 pm until 9 pm. A recording is available the next morning on the Station’s Mixcloud account.

All Loved Up Radio Show

The ‘All Loved Up’ radio show started life back in 2021 with Tim Allan presenting the show as a bit of fun for Radio Sports Live.

Tim plays the best of the love songs and ballads as well as tracks with double meanings from the 70s, 80s, 90s and more.

Currently, the show is broadcast ‘live’ on a Sunday evening from 7 pm until 9 pm. A recording is available the next morning on the Station’s Mixcloud account.

The Meltdown Radio Show

The ‘Meltdown’ radio show started life back in 2017 with Tim Allan presenting the show as a fill-in pre-record for Radio Wimborne. A further two years down the line, Radio Sports Live took over the show with Tim still broadcasting a wide range of classic retro tracks from the 70s, 80s, 90s and more.

Currently, the show is broadcast ‘live’ on a Monday evening from 5 pm until 7 pm. A recording is available the next morning on the Station’s Mixcloud account.

Non-League Football: Match Day Live

The ‘Match Day Live’ radio show started life in 2018 with Tim Allan presenting the show as a drop into the main sports show, plus live on an Internet-only feed for Radio Wimborne.

In 2019, the show moved to Radio Sports Live when Tim founded the Internet-only station to cover local non-league football clubs each week, when the majority of people were dubious about attending a sporting event with the Covid virus still rife.

The show took a different turn when Tim passed ownership to his friend Paul, who covers Hamworthy United and Christchurch.

Tim returned to broadcasting ‘live’ sport in July 2023 from Evesham United Football Club. Tim is joined by Harry Stables, who takes on the main commentator’s role.

A recording is available the next morning on the Station’s Mixcloud account.

Quiz Nights, Rock n’ Roll Bingo Nights, Rock Nights, or Outside Events will be considered

Please email Tim in the first instance and include as much information as you can about the venue and the event that you would like Tim to cover.

Happy to travel up to one hour for the right type of event, or further if needed.

Please note that TIm no longer offers a mobile disco or karaoke service.
