Fred Setters – Radioshed – For the love of music

Fred Setters started his own radio journey in 2012 as a volunteer presenter and subsequently Station Manager at Jubilee Hospital Radio, which is based in the beautiful Channel Island of Guernsey.

But his love for radio started way back in the early seventies, where, as a young boy in the evenings, he would listen to Radio Luxembourg’s English language broadcasts – this continued into his teenage years, where Fred recalls one of his great radio heroes was Tommy Vance, presenter of the Friday Rock Show on BBC Radio 1.

After Fred moved away from Guernsey, he moved to mainland Britain and now resides in Kirkby Stephen, a market town in Cumbria, where in 2016 he started the radio production company Radioshed Productions and also shares his catalogue of shows with radio stations up and down the country.

“Radio and music have always been really important for me. Radio is a companion for so many people, and music always evokes memories and places, so it’s a tremendous privilege for me to share my passion on the airwaves. I also love being a part of the team at KL Radio, presenting my shows – After Hours, Electric City, I Love The 70’s and Rock Solid.”

 

 

The Rock Solid Radio Show
This is a weekly two-hour radio show celebrating the finest in Classic, Blues, and Progressive Rock music.

Each week, we’ll be featuring music from the 1960s right up to the present day, by some of the biggest rock acts on the planet, as well as showcasing exciting new talent in these musical genres.
