CLOCKS CHANGE: British Summer Time Ends on Sunday

2026-10-23 66

A reminder to everyone to change their clocks this weekend: on Sunday morning at 02:00 British Summer Time ends, when the clocks go back one hour to 01:00, returning the UK to Greenwich Mean Time or GMT.

Your digital devices should automatically change, but if you have any manual clocks, they will need to be changed manually and some cars also, but not while you are driving!

Ministers have confirmed they do not intend to scrap British Summer Time (BST) or Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), stating the current system makes the optimal use of daylight across the country.

The government has not commissioned new impact assessments or moved forward with legislative proposals. Recent public petitions submitted to Parliament calling for year-round BST have been officially rejected.
